Personal Accident – Claims Information

What can you claim?

The most common claims are those related to Personal Injuries sustained whilst playing or participating in a cricket club activity.

If you are injured, you can claim for some of the costs associated with that injury including non-Medicare medical expenses.

Please refer to the menu options on the right of screen to review the claimable items.

To access a claim form, please proceed to the Making a Claim section of this web site.

Who handles the claims?

Echelon Australia Pty Ltd (Echelon) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Pty Ltd.

Echelon is the appointed claims management group for all Personal Injury claims on behalf of the Insurer and the Trustee of the National Club Risk Protect Programme.

Claims Notification Period

In order that claims reported to the Trustee will not be prejudiced due to late notification, you must notify Echelon of any claim or potential claim for the period 31 August 2008 to 31 August 2009 within 180 days from the date of injury.

The JDT Arrangement set up for the period 31 August 2008 to 31 August 2009 will close 6 months after the expiry date (i.e. by 28 February 2010).

Please note that this relates to claims notified under the Scheme Cover only and does not apply to the Insurance Cover whose time limits are determined by the Insurance Policy and relative legislation.

What are the costs for managing Personal Accident claims?

Claims are managed by Echelon who charge a fee. This fee is paid out of the total annual contributions to the Capital Benefits, Non-Medicare Medical Expenses and Loss of Income Programmes.

Therefore the claimant or his/her club is not directly charged a claims management cost.
