Welcome to the Australian Football National Risk Protection Program 2008

The Australian Football National Risk Protection Program ("the Program"), arranged by JLT Sport, has been up and running since 2004. This joint initiative of the AFL and its state bodies has seen a number of benefits provided to football clubs throughout each state and territory. It is considered that every club now has access to cover at an affordable and consistent price. The Program’s goal is to provide sustainable cover and a long term solution and peace of mind for this and future seasons.

The Program provides competitively broad protection across the following areas:

  1. Combined General & Products Liability (including Errors & Omissions Liability – for coaches, umpires and trainers only).
  2. Club Management Liability (applicable only to incorporated clubs). If your club is not incorporated and you would like guidance in that regard, please contact your Association/League
  3. Personal Accident cover for Capital Benefits, Non Medicare Medical Expenses and Loss of Income (optional)

A further benefit of the Program is the easy access to coverage details via this web site and the 2008 Web site which provides an easy to read summary of benefits. This web site provides access to the policy documents and Product Disclosure Statement (where applicable) and the JDT Scheme Rules (Personal Accident) for your perusal before you make your decision to continue with cover under the Program.

Members who use the web site will enjoy the benefit of direct access to claims information including ‘How to Make a Claim’. Claim Forms can be downloaded directly from the site, or alternatively, you may contact JLT Sport for assistance.

Certificate of Currency

A Certificate of Currency is a document that will verify your club’s General and Products Liability cover. You may download and print this document at anytime from this web site. You can provide copies of this document to any organisation that has requested evidence of your club’s liability cover.

Prior to accessing a Certificate of Currency for the first time, your club must Register Online as well as successfully complete Module 1 of the Risk Management Education Program. Once the Risk Management Module is complete, you may access your club’s Certificate of Currency as often as you need it throughout the year.

The importance of maximum participation in the program

The level of cover and the competitive costs have been achieved by negotiating with providers of the covers on the premise that all clubs in Australia will join the Program. Therefore, it is extremely important that every club supports this initiative.

This new product is designed to utilise the collective buying power of around 14,000 clubs within netball and other JLT Sport partner sports throughout Australia to minimise premiums and provide enhanced benefits.

JLT Sport Asset Protect must be purchased separately. It is not part of the automatic covers or upgrades of the AFL National Risk Protection Program. See below for the types of cover offered through Asset Protect.
